Sunday Morning Coffee Ride with Friends

This is one of the many things I love about cycling. Every Sunday we do what we simply like to call, a Coffee Ride. It consists of riding our usual loop via Key Biscayne and then heading out to South Beach to the local coffee shop called Panther Coffee.

Weather was awesome as we rode through the million dollar mansions of they Key, just a group of friends out having a blast. Usually that sentence has to be preceded or followed by alcohol drinking or other party favorites. Not this time, instead it was carbon fiber bikes and overprice lycra.

We made a quick stop at the famous Oasis Cafe. I snapped a few photos and refilled my water bottle, then it was off to South Beach.

And then, we made it to Panther. Pictured is a Ricoh GR which I was shooting that day borrowed from a friend. Awesome little point and shoot mirrorless that takes some amazing photos for such a tiny size.

The usual chatter ensued. With Danny (center picture) unwrapping his Vegan Rage since Panther Coffee doesn’t have much options for vegans. Sorry Danny!

This was my steed for the day. My 95 Bianchi Veloce fitted with Campy Veloce 8-speed. #steelisreal

While at the South Pointe Pier, I also took this sweet photo of a Daddiel Rodriguez’s ProjectOne Trek Madone 9. This is by far my favorite bike in the peloton. Aero, comfortable, stiff, and damn good looking.

Attempting and actually succeeding for a little bit, to do track stands. Still haven’t gotten it perfected but I’m getting close.

After South Beach we rode back over the McCarthur Bridge we leads back to the mainland and finished our ride, I was able to snap this photo with my iPhone as my friends rode past me. I actually had to stand on the concrete barrier, which wasn’t very safe with cycling shoes on, but I had to do it to get this shot. After that we all rode our separate ways until the next Sunday when we’ll do it all over again.

Hope you enjoyed our Sunday Coffee Ride, whoever is reading this blog post and is local to the Miami area is welcome to join. Until next time!
