The field on the CAT4/5 race was pretty big. With these many riders racing for glory, you knew for a fact the race was going to be good. Lucas Brunelle showing some well deserved love to the race organizers. As he mentioned, this is a tradition dating all the way back to the 80s. For a large portion of the race the peloton stayed together. There were a few breakaways and riders who decided to ride aggressive tried to escape from the group. One of those riders is Fabian Garcia of Rush Racing p/b Piquet Realty Team. He showed great panache and tried breaking away, but unfortunately the breaks didn't stick. And the group came together again. It was great seeing Robert Zamora owner of Brickell Bikes out mixing it up in local races. When he's not working on bikes, he's out smashing it on the weekend crits. The group stayed together for the last 5 laps and the pace started picking up more and more every time the group came around. At the end it was an extremely close finish, Joyto from Amino Rip barely got the win due to a late surge from the 2nd place racer.
